This is one of my most favorite books. It is fun to read and the children find it hilarious. It can be read using so many different voices. The illustrations are phenomenal. The children get such a laugh out of the facial expressions the mouse does every time the bear is mentioned. I would personally say that it is and should be a must read for ages 2-5 years. I absolutely love it.
I LOVE this story as well! It is also a good story to have children change the characters up and put in new and different characters either based on their life or some other character. They also love to put it into a play. I remember a group of kindergarteners I once had who asked me before I even mentioned it if they could put on a play using this story. When I told them it would be great, they really took off with it and totally amazed me. They got their parents involved who created costumes and they practiced and practiced it. When they were ready to put on the play I was blown away by their refinement of it. It was truly an awesome experience and something I will never forget because they took over and made it their own.

DeleteI have never heard of this story and I have been in the field for 18 years. I will have to go borrow it from the library and read it to my children at work sometime.
