My Supports

My Supports

My support system consists of very few people.  First and most important God is my #1 and biggest supporter. He gives me the strengths to carry on when I feel like giving up. My second and most favorite supporter is my son. My son is 11 years old and I am a single mother. I wake up every morning and push through all the heartaches, headaches, and the not wanting to do anything aches just to be a good role model for him. Those are two of my biggest and most supportive daily influences I have that keep me grounded and focused on success. My father and my best friend are also very supportive of me in my dreams, goals, aspirations, and daily life. They give me the advice and boost of confidence I need to carry on.

My life would be very difficult and unimaginable if I didn’t have my support system to help keep me encouraged. I honestly doubt if I would have gotten this far. Life brings so many trials and tribulations your way to discourage you and without them I would have fallen at the waist side of hardship and turmoil. If my support system was gone I would honestly break down. God I know will always be there but, my son is my world and my life. I have no idea where or what I would do if he wasn’t here. The same thing applies to my father. I love him to pieces and if he wasn’t around to cheer me up, push me forward, and help wipe the tears then I would truly be an unmotivated, depressed, and uncaring person.

Each support person plays a different role in my life. God is my spiritual leader and counselor. My son is my motivator. My father is my encourager and my best friend is my confidant and personal diary. Without my faith and believing that no matter what life brings me I can and will succeed I would be discouraged at the slightest test and trial. Without my motivator I wouldn’t have graduated and returned for my Master’s Degree. Without my encourager I wouldn’t have the belief that with time, hard work, and patience anything is possible. Last but not least, without my human diary I wouldn’t be able to communicate my feelings and respect constructive criticism. I love my support team. They are always there for me and are always guiding me in the right direction no matter what.

  1. AWESOME POST!!!! I agree 100% with both statements. God is the greatest support a person could have! #2 I have a 4 year old who helped me through my divorce and being a single parent stage.... Totally stinks, when I would cry she would cry with me. Children are absolutly amazing and they are great supports who will push you to do more and better for yourself and them! Great job!

  2. Robin,
I enjoyed your post, you have a very strong support system. I will be in prayer for you as you continue your journey of education. It is a blessing to me to see that God is also your number one support in your life, as He is in mine.

  3. Hi Robin. “Life brings so many trials and tribulations” is a wonderful quote that means so much for those who face challenges every day. I enjoyed reading your blog and we are all blessed by family, friends and God. I’ve always said to my children, “Life is too short to stress over minor things, so enjoy your life and with the ones who truly care and love you dearly…”
