Assignment- Week 2
For
my topic of interest I choose to focus on “The Under Appreciated Field of Early
Education.” This topic is based off of my own personal and professional opinion
and experiences in the early education field. I have worked in the field of
early education for 10 years. I have seen a lot of change but not significant
enough to say that our field of education is at the top of everyone’s list of
concern. It took some thought to come up with areas of research interest based
on my main topic. I have come up with a few subtopics to touch base on during
this course that will hopefully help me shed light on our field of study…
1. Early
Education, is it important and why?
2. Benefits
of Early Education
3. Difficulties
of awareness of the field, funding, and compensation to provide quality care
and education to the young
I
know this is a broad topic but, it is one that is very important to me. So, if
any of my colleagues have any suggestions or advice for my topic and where they
might like to see this research go or if there are any resources that you can
share/offer please feel free to send me an email to robin.miller4@waldenu.edu I would
greatly appreciate it. I wish you all the best with our class and if there are
any resources that I can assist with during our time together in this class I
will be more than happy to help.
Robin, thanks for sharing your insights. I like your topic. I found a good variety of articles on my topic on the Walden library Academic Researh Complete database. My topic is culture. My area of interest is also broad. My subtopic sentence is How does the role of culture change during early childhood, especially how teachers in the classroom incorporate language and culture into instruction, how are they intergrated, and how intergarted them influence children's learning. I can use any help you give me, and I will also help you.
ReplyDeleteLinda, you have a very good topic. I also ran across many articles in the Walden Library ProQuest search engine. It would be a good idea if you could speak to any dual language learning parents or observe any ESL students to help with your research.
DeleteHi Robin. You really do have some fantastic subtopics relating to your topic and I know in this field we face lots of challenges through research, experience and observations - - once we find our answers, we succeed. With your education and experience, I’m sure your topic will give insight to prospecting students…Jay
ReplyDeleteThank you Jay I appreciate it. It was a little difficult for me to find some articles on the Walden Library Academic Research Complete Database though. Luckily, i came across some in the ProQuest Database to help me.
DeleteRobin,
ReplyDeleteYour insights about the value of early childhood education are right on! It is unfortunate that our field is not valued more with research findings about how young children learn and brain research of young children birth- 5 years old. I am confident that you will find resources to narrow your research and find some interesting answers to your questions.
Nicolette
I was lucky Nicolette. I found an article speaking directly on the effects of brain development in young children birth-5 years old and the benefits they receive when enrolled in early education programs.
